Our story
A bathhouse that became a hotel
People have come to Portorož for the water since antiquity, and this building was one of the bathhouses that served them: marble basins downstairs, fourteen rooms above, and a courtyard where guests waited their turn. When we took it on, the pipes were older than anyone could date. We kept the marble, the courtyard and the tall shutters, and rebuilt everything else around a simple idea: a seafront hotel small enough to remember your name.
The old basin hall became the Akadea Bay casino, the ground floor our kitchen and bar, and the top floor a spa still fed by the same spring.

Thermal spa
The water the town was built on
The spa runs on the warm mineral water that made Portorož a spa town: a steam room, a hammam and quiet rooms for massage with olive oil and sea salt. Treatments are booked a day ahead, and the terrace outside faces the gulf for the part afterwards where you do nothing at all.

The Akadea Bay Casino
One floor below the lobby, the casino opens in the late afternoon and fills once the sea breeze drops: slot machines along the walls, roulette and card tables under low lamps, and a bar with a view of the promenade. Open to hotel residents and to visitors of 18 and over.
European roulette
Single-zero wheels with low and high minimums, plus terminals for a game without the table.
Blackjack & baccarat
Card tables are dealt nightly by the house team, with private tables in the VIP room on request.
Poker room
Texas Hold'em cash games on most nights and a tournament every Saturday. The current list is at the poker desk.
